Stocking Fillers..

Monday 29 November 2010

W7 are a cosmetics company who mainly produce cheaper beauty products. I feel their products were really hit and miss, and are more of a try-before-you-buy for fear of disappointment. The products aren't expensive, so you don't necessarily need to splash out to give them a whirl. I would definitely say these were more stocking fillers than beauty must haves..

1. Nail Files
They come in all shapes and sizes, but I'm particularly loving these beauties from W7. They are a fun little prezzie that won't go un-noticed. They have a soft furry side, shown below, and on the other, a plain black file. I the file actually shortens the nails pretty well as the grains are larger than normal. However I would be tempted to use a finer one for shaping.

2. Sparkle Stix
These again are from W7 which is an affordable brand that makes great products. These liners have added sparkle, perfect for the festive season. The colours are bright and long lasting.

3. Nail Polish
Navy has been very 'in' this season, and the one to top was BarryM's Navy. I think these two have done it, they are at a great price and you get 15ml in each bottle. The formulation is great, and very opaque, so only one coat is needed. Pictured; W7 Navy and Graphite.

4. Liquid Lipstick
These two colours are gorgeous, a barbie pink, and a golden nude. They go with any complexion, and add that little bit of sparkle.

 5. Lipstick
W7's new range of lipsticks are all matte. I found them really hard to apply, as they weren't smooth at all and completely dry out your lips. The best of the lot was the red - 'Pillar Box' and a light pink with shimmer (hang on, I thought these were matte lipsticks?!) - 'Lollipop'.

L-R: Pillar Box, Lollipop, Cocco Kiss & Tender Touch

I absolutely love the logo printed on the top of the bullets, just shows the thought that went into the designing.

6. Mascara
W7 Massive lashes does what it says on the tin. It voluminises and darkens the lashes, to give a fuller appearance. The wand is easy to use and is big enough to coat the whole lash line.

7. Blush & Bronzer
The duo is lovely, the pretty pink and the shimmery bronze go really well together and give you that bronzed glow, while allowing pretty pink cheeks.

Double Act

This blush is lovely, it has more of a peachy tone to the last, with as much shimmer as the bronzer.

8. Eye Shadows
These are immensely pigmented shadows, perfect for the ultra-glam smoky eye this party season. They have massive amounts of glitter and shimmer, but this does make them rough and harder to work with/blend when on the eye.

 9. Highlights
Give yourself or someone special a vibrant glow this Christmas, with these Moon Light and Sun Shine highlights. The latter is almost a dupe of Benefit's High Beam, and gives practically the same effects for less than half the price.

Get ready for winter with Wedge Welly..

Sunday 7 November 2010
Yes, that's right, we've finally found some fashionable wellys, that aren't over priced or ridiculously uncomfortable..

Okay, so maybe take the 'aren't over priced' with a pinch of salt as they do retail between £40-£45, but I think it is worth it.. don't you?

Now you may recognise these wellies, as they recently appeared on Dragons Den (BBC Two) in May,  where the three entrepreneurs pitched their wedge wellys to the Dragons, and successfully welcomed Theo Paphitis to their team.

You can watch their Dragons Den experience here:

The website says: ''Our Wellies are guaranteed to give you a height advantage over those flat Wellie wearers, and the high fashion surface patterns will make you the envy of everyone! And if that’s not enough..... these Wellies will be the most comfortable you will ever put on your feet (so if you’re planning long walks, make sure your feet are well looked after in ourslipper inspired WedgeWellys!!!)''

The wellys are designed right here in the UK by the Team's 'Creative One' - Laura. (And how fabulous the designs are too!)

Wedge Welly offers 3 different Styles of boot, these are:

The Unique Range
These retail at £40 and are the 'original' Wedge Welly. They are designed with fashion and comfort in mind, the simplistic design offers a slim fit, and chic look.

The Flex Range
They offer an extendable gusset, which is pretty and practical, and perfect for tucking your jeans in.
£45

The Curve Range
These wellys have been made to offer a wider fit, and a generous foot & ankle fit. The calf circumference is up to 48cm, and they retail at £45

All prices include delivery, so splish splash along to www.wedgewelly.co.uk and grab yourself a pair!!

Just a little bit of gossip before you go..the new collection will be out in time for Christmas, so don't forget to pop a pair on your list, as some of the designs are bound to be brilliant!
