Steam Cream

Monday 27 December 2010
Steam Cream is an innovative, new, multi-purpose cream uniquely formulated using pure, unrefined steam for maximum absorption. Made for all skin types, this cream is locally produced using fresh, natural ingredients.

Each handy-sized tin has a quirky design, printed onto eco-friendly packaging, and is available at an affordable price from www.steamcream.co.uk

The cream itself is brilliant too, it is easily absorbed and moisturises the skin quickly, leaving a gorgeous lavender-scent in the air.

The cream contains
a moisturising and soothing oatmeal infusion, orange flower water and healing lavender oil, all to breakdown and penetrate areas of skin that other creams find hard to reach.

What to buy her for Christmas..

Sunday 19 December 2010
For that special someone in your life, whether it be your girlfriend, wife, best friend, mum, or sister, there are some lovely things out there that I'm sure she wouldn't mind receiving..
Watches are a true Christmas gift classic, they extra special, and can easily become a woman's most worn accessory. Here is a little selection of this years finest..

1. BCBGMAXAZRIA BG8235 - Elite Sport Watch

This gorgeous watch comes in 7 fabulous colours which will brighten up any outfit. With 30 meters water resistance and gold tone steel case, this is sure to be a winner.

The attachment at the back is a stylish double push closure, and the strap size can be easily adjusted. The stone set dial and rubber bracelet finish it off beautifully and make the watch comfortable and soft to wear.

The watch has a three-hand dial, and three sub-dials for date, day, and 24hour count.
The colour pictured is Violet, and it can be found here.

2. Ted Baker TE4038

This watch has an opal backing and purple accents. It has a three-hand dial, as well as three sub-dials for day, date and 24hour count.

The double push closure is engraved with "Ted Baker" and on the reverse of the face, the watch is said to be 'No Ordinary Designer Watch'. The 50m water resistance is a superb quality, as is the stainless steel case and strap.

The watch comes packaged beautifully in this stylish case, with a 2 year manufactures warranty.

3. BCBGMAXAZRIA BG6210

This watch is a classic, there is no need for batteries, as with simple day-to-day actions, the automatic dial is wound up. This however does mean that the watch needs to be worn almost daily, otherwise it can easily stop and loose time.

The mechanical clockwork features that can be seen make this watch very sophisticated and classy.
The watch has normal leather straps which are attached with a gold buckle. The leather strap is stunning, adding to the whole look and feel of the timepiece.

All watches can be found at www.ticwatches.co.uk

FYF

Friday 10 December 2010
Flawless You Forver, known as FYF in the beauty world, are a relatively new American make up brand.

"A range of core and mineral make-up, skincare and spa products specially designed to keep you looking the way you should. Gorgeous!"

The products arrived neatly wrapped in crisp pink tissue paper and were neatly arranged, making the packaging look stunning.

FYF has been all over Youtube recently with reviews and raves, as everyone is loving their products. If you have already heard about FYF prior to this post, then the product you will most probably instantly recognise is their Floral Blush.

Floral Blush in Romance, £11.85

This blush is absolutely stunning and is a favourite amongst all. If you haven't tried it out, do! As it combines three shades to create a pretty rose pink.

Floral Blush in Romance, £11.85

It's highly pigmented and is soft & smooth to apply. The rose shape of the blush is another bonus, as unlike the MAC ones a couple of years back, these keep their shape brilliantly. This is a definite must have. £11.85

Radiant Eye Shadow in Moon Beam £7.49

Another of their products is their Radiant Eye Shadow in Moon Beam. Now this is absolutely gorgeous! It has been described as an 'all that glitters' without the pink undertones, and I agree. It is a gentle brown with silver pearl and can be worn softly all over the lid for a hint of sparkle or can be used to add some depth to the eye through the crease. £7.49 (swatch below)
I love this, and would love to try out some of their other colours too.

Their website is brilliant, as it converts into multiple currencies, as well as offering free worldwide shipping.
They have recently installed a virtual makeover application which allows you to try their products onto a model, however, I would say that the swatches aren't that brilliant.

Virtual Makeover showing the Moisturising Dewdrop Lipstick in Cranberry
taken from www.flawlessyouforever.com

Shown on the model is the Moisturising Dewdrop lipstick in cranberry, and as you can see it's different to what's shown on the model. Don't get me wrong, this is a gorgeous colour, but when your expecting a peachy, coral-y pink, it is slightly disappointing. However, regardless of the colour the pigmentation is good, and the payoff is brilliant.

Dewdrop Moisturising Lipstick in Cranberry £8.73

Away from the colour issues, the Lipstick contains Vitamin E and soothing emollients to keep your lips smooth, soft and moisturised. A true swatch of Cranberry is below, along with the eye shadow in moon beam and another Lipstick in Natalie, mentioned below.

Shown on the swatch is the Couture Pout Mineral Lipstick in Natalie. This is a lovely pink nude, and everyone loves it. It has been featured on Pearls and Poodles, The Style Diet, and Bella's Beauty Spot.

Couture Pout Mineral Lipstick in Natalie £11.23
The lipstick combines the best of science and nature to give you a 'youthful pucker' by visibly reducing fine lines. It is formulated with shea butter and lip conditioners like avocado and jojoba oil, they hydrate your lips and keep them soft and supple. £11.23

The last on the list is the Miracle Coat Nail Enamel, and this was a slight disappointment. It was due to the swatch situation, as what I thought would be a lovely light, matte nude colour, turned out to be a French pink, that simply gave the nails some shine. It is priced at £5.61, which is not bad, but if I am honest, I would rather nip to boots and pick up a top coat for £2-£4.

FYF are currently working on their website swatches and working with different technologies that are available to bring their customers an authentic experience.

What do you think??

Stocking Fillers..

Monday 29 November 2010

W7 are a cosmetics company who mainly produce cheaper beauty products. I feel their products were really hit and miss, and are more of a try-before-you-buy for fear of disappointment. The products aren't expensive, so you don't necessarily need to splash out to give them a whirl. I would definitely say these were more stocking fillers than beauty must haves..

1. Nail Files
They come in all shapes and sizes, but I'm particularly loving these beauties from W7. They are a fun little prezzie that won't go un-noticed. They have a soft furry side, shown below, and on the other, a plain black file. I the file actually shortens the nails pretty well as the grains are larger than normal. However I would be tempted to use a finer one for shaping.

2. Sparkle Stix
These again are from W7 which is an affordable brand that makes great products. These liners have added sparkle, perfect for the festive season. The colours are bright and long lasting.

3. Nail Polish
Navy has been very 'in' this season, and the one to top was BarryM's Navy. I think these two have done it, they are at a great price and you get 15ml in each bottle. The formulation is great, and very opaque, so only one coat is needed. Pictured; W7 Navy and Graphite.

4. Liquid Lipstick
These two colours are gorgeous, a barbie pink, and a golden nude. They go with any complexion, and add that little bit of sparkle.

 5. Lipstick
W7's new range of lipsticks are all matte. I found them really hard to apply, as they weren't smooth at all and completely dry out your lips. The best of the lot was the red - 'Pillar Box' and a light pink with shimmer (hang on, I thought these were matte lipsticks?!) - 'Lollipop'.

L-R: Pillar Box, Lollipop, Cocco Kiss & Tender Touch

I absolutely love the logo printed on the top of the bullets, just shows the thought that went into the designing.

Pillar Box (top) & Lollipop

6. Mascara
W7 Massive lashes does what it says on the tin. It voluminises and darkens the lashes, to give a fuller appearance. The wand is easy to use and is big enough to coat the whole lash line.

7. Blush & Bronzer
The duo is lovely, the pretty pink and the shimmery bronze go really well together and give you that bronzed glow, while allowing pretty pink cheeks.

Double Act

This blush is lovely, it has more of a peachy tone to the last, with as much shimmer as the bronzer.

Candy Floss

8. Eye Shadows
These are immensely pigmented shadows, perfect for the ultra-glam smoky eye this party season. They have massive amounts of glitter and shimmer, but this does make them rough and harder to work with/blend when on the eye.

 9. Highlights
Give yourself or someone special a vibrant glow this Christmas, with these Moon Light and Sun Shine highlights. The latter is almost a dupe of Benefit's High Beam, and gives practically the same effects for less than half the price.

All of W7's products are available from www.faithcosmetics.co.uk

Get ready for winter with Wedge Welly..

Sunday 7 November 2010
Yes, that's right, we've finally found some fashionable wellys, that aren't over priced or ridiculously uncomfortable..

Okay, so maybe take the 'aren't over priced' with a pinch of salt as they do retail between £40-£45, but I think it is worth it.. don't you?

Now you may recognise these wellies, as they recently appeared on Dragons Den (BBC Two) in May,  where the three entrepreneurs pitched their wedge wellys to the Dragons, and successfully welcomed Theo Paphitis to their team.

You can watch their Dragons Den experience here:

The website says: ''Our Wellies are guaranteed to give you a height advantage over those flat Wellie wearers, and the high fashion surface patterns will make you the envy of everyone! And if that’s not enough..... these Wellies will be the most comfortable you will ever put on your feet (so if you’re planning long walks, make sure your feet are well looked after in ourslipper inspired WedgeWellys!!!)''

The wellys are designed right here in the UK by the Team's 'Creative One' - Laura. (And how fabulous the designs are too!)

Wedge Welly offers 3 different Styles of boot, these are:

The Unique Range
These retail at £40 and are the 'original' Wedge Welly. They are designed with fashion and comfort in mind, the simplistic design offers a slim fit, and chic look.

The Flex Range
They offer an extendable gusset, which is pretty and practical, and perfect for tucking your jeans in.
£45

The Curve Range
These wellys have been made to offer a wider fit, and a generous foot & ankle fit. The calf circumference is up to 48cm, and they retail at £45

All prices include delivery, so splish splash along to www.wedgewelly.co.uk and grab yourself a pair!!

Just a little bit of gossip before you go..the new collection will be out in time for Christmas, so don't forget to pop a pair on your list, as some of the designs are bound to be brilliant!

Order your WedgeWelly boots here, they offer 48 hour delivery via DHL on orders received before 1.00 pm (excluding Saturday & Sunday).

Now moving into the USA.. wedge welly word has gotten out, and it seems everyone is loving them!
