State of Grace #021

Rimmel Say: "The soft silken powder formula glides on smoothly and blends effortlessly, flawlessly reproducing the intense saturated colour. What's more, your perfect shade will last as long as you do, neither creasing nor fading, making it the perfect long wear eyeshadow with which to experiment a rainbow of colours! Stand out in the crowd."

I have yet to find a wearable look for these colours, as their intensity does not bode well for a day-to-day appearance. However, the soft, and powdery, easy to apply texture of the shadows really make up for it, as they are perfect for a night out.

The quad comes with a dual ended applicator, of which I never use, and end up throwing away, but I feel this one does deserve a mention as Rimmel have made the effort. Along with the usual large foam applicator that is usually included in most eyeshadow palettes, this one also has a thinner, stronger end which can be used to add the darker colours to your look.

The pigmentation is brilliant, but the colour pay-off not so. I found that the blues were brilliant, leaving the silver and purple well and truly behind, and rather faded despite what Rimmel seem to claim.

Find below swatches with and without my favourite primer - MAC's Paint Pot in Bare Study

Eye Shadows applied directly to skin

Eye shadows applied with primer - this I must say improves the colour pay-off and ultimately the staying power, leaving you with crease-free colour.
