Amie product range

Amie Skincare says  that their gentle but effective formulas are your skin's best friend: bursting with natural plant extracts that work in complete harmony with your skin, they are ideal for all skin types, especially sensitive, oily and blemish-prone, and will help your skin look and feel absolutely gorgeous!

With nearly every Amie product containing 95% natural fruit and botanical ingredients, hand-picked to work in complete harmony with your skin, to bring out its natural radiance; the result is beautifully clean, soft, smooth and confident skin.

Bright Eyes

Amie's gentle eye make up remover has a lovely scent and removes all eye make up easily. I apply to a cotton pad, and then smooth over the eye area. It leaves the skin feeling fresh and really clean. Occasionally it does cause irritation when it enters the eye, and can leave the skin feeling sticky if a moisturizer is not applied afterwards.
Morning Clear

Amie's morning clear facial wash was one of my favourites. After using this, my skin felt softer, cleaner and overall moisturized. It smells really good, and is perfect for either morning or night as it freshens and cleanses the skin whilst removing make-up

Morning Dew

The morning dew moisturizer is mineral oil and parabens free. It feels light on the skin and dries matte, leaving it the perfect base on which to apply your makeup.
New Leaf

Amie's new leaf exfoliating polish is another of my faves, as it smells amazing, whilst gently removes excess oil and dirt. The mango and cocoa butter are great for softening the skin whilst the orange blossom and sweet almond tone.

Spring Clean

And finally, this cooling clay facial mask is great for giving the skin a really deep clean. The treatment draws out deep rooted dirt and impurities whilst the clay soaks up excess oils. It cleared up any spots that may have been lurking under the skin and has prevented future blemishes.

State of Grace #021

Rimmel Say: "The soft silken powder formula glides on smoothly and blends effortlessly, flawlessly reproducing the intense saturated colour. What's more, your perfect shade will last as long as you do, neither creasing nor fading, making it the perfect long wear eyeshadow with which to experiment a rainbow of colours! Stand out in the crowd."

I have yet to find a wearable look for these colours, as their intensity does not bode well for a day-to-day appearance. However, the soft, and powdery, easy to apply texture of the shadows really make up for it, as they are perfect for a night out.

The quad comes with a dual ended applicator, of which I never use, and end up throwing away, but I feel this one does deserve a mention as Rimmel have made the effort. Along with the usual large foam applicator that is usually included in most eyeshadow palettes, this one also has a thinner, stronger end which can be used to add the darker colours to your look.

The pigmentation is brilliant, but the colour pay-off not so. I found that the blues were brilliant, leaving the silver and purple well and truly behind, and rather faded despite what Rimmel seem to claim.

Find below swatches with and without my favourite primer - MAC's Paint Pot in Bare Study

Eye Shadows applied directly to skin

Eye shadows applied with primer - this I must say improves the colour pay-off and ultimately the staying power, leaving you with crease-free colour.

25 Hour Foundation!

Saturday, 5 February 2011
New from Rimmel London...
It's their new, 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation.

This is Rimmel's first transfer proof foundation that lasts a full 25 hours!

The formula has a 'revitalizing mineral complex' which is said to help re-energise overworked skin. Rimmel say that there should be no sign of 'makeup fatigue for a full 25 hours.

The foundation contains a moisturizing Aqua Primer so that skin feels hydrated and comfortable all day.

The foundation is quite sheer and dries quickly, which I find hard to blend, which means I use more foundation than I usually would.

However, once applied, its staying power is amazing and has a super light weight feel! - It lasts all day and does not gather, crease or go cakey.

January Favourites..

Hollister Lip Gloss - £8 - in Wild Berry

This has quite a sticky consistency, similar to the MAC Dazzleglasses, which adds to its staying power. It tastes and smells amazing when on your lips, and although is a very simple colour, it looks amazing. Great for keeping in your handbag as it has a slanted squeeze applicator for easy applying.

Rimmel London Lash Accelerator Mascara - £8.99 - 001 Black

I mentioned this mascara in a post last year, and it has continued to work. (see my review here)
I am now on my 2nd tube, and wanting to go back for my 3rd. It's been recommended to friends and family, who are now also hooked! The mascara has just launched in 'Extra Black' - which I cannot wait to try!

Whilst we're on the subject of mascara's, here is my latest finding:

Rimmel London Max Bold Curve's Mascara - £6.99 - 001 Black
This mascara has an insanely huge brush! It's bristles are nicely defined so it separates out the lashes brilliantly - coating them well. This gives your lashes a brilliant curl, without the need for eyelash curlers - easy peasy.

e.l.f. - I am really loving e.l.f at the moment, and have just popped an order in for some of their new bamboo brushes. Do comment if you would like to see a haul/review or something of a similar effect.
